I need something to read

I Need This“I need a good story.
I need a good book.
The kind that explodes
Off the shelf.
I need some good writing,
Alive and exciting,
To contemplate all by myself.”

-John Lithgow

Let me start by saying, I would like the library above.  But taking the chance of dropping my book in the tub just gives me heart palpitations.  You don’t treat books that way!  That’s why we have a kindle with a double sealed bag dearie.

Does anyone else ever stare at the shelves in their home library, boards bowing with the weight of books stacked two deep, and think to themselves “Why is there nothing to read?”

Recently I’ve read through Game of Thrones, Gods of Olympus, The Alex Craft Chronicles, a book on the cheese industry, a book on the history of Salt, and am rereading the Posleen books from John Ringo.  I’ve got floor to ceiling bookshelves stacked with good stuff and a kindle full of digital ink.  But I’m going to whine and ask for something new.

So what’s next? Help me out here folks!

And since I don’t have a great deal to say today, I’m going to share one of my favorite book related videos.  If I were single, this would be me. Thankfully I have a wonderful wife who reads all time, so I’m feeling pretty lucky.
